John F. Kennedy Transect: URBAN EQUINOX
The URBAN EQUINOX project aims to revitalize the John F. Kennedy Bridge that is now filled with traffic. The design encourages pedestrians to project images, videos and social media through the robotic arms that are placed along the bridge. By doing so, the John F. Kennedy bridge can facilitate large gatherings and evoke others in the Philadelphia area to come and interact with the space. The concept is driven by the idea that a dynamic projection of lumens can positively impact an occupied space and when combined with meaningful content chosen by the user, the space ultimately becomes revived by the people of Philadelphia.
